In a world full of room for God to move from situations like ISIS, violence, poverty, human trafficking, etc. there are endless possibilities of ways for Jesus to use us. Solomon in Ecclesiastes stated it very clearly when he said,
“A dream comes when there are many cares” (Ecclesiastes 5:3).
When taking a look at the way Solomon worded this section in Ecclesiastes I see pure wisdom, and not just because he was the wisest of them all. The verse prior reminds us to be slow to speak, slow to utter anything before God and then Solomon reminds us of a very obvious truth that is sometimes easy for us to forget. Solomon puts it this way in verse 2, “God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.” Before continuing, take some time to sit on that verse and see what God speaks to you about it…
When things tend to look deceiving, difficult or even troublesome to the eye, how are we really viewing this? I sometimes enjoy taking time by myself to be with Jesus in order to allow Him to check my heart, since I sometimes tend to tell Him what the problems are. This is very important in our lives and our walks so that we can know our place and remember that God is in heaven and I am on earth. In those times God can humble me to also remind me that He sees everything that is going on. Not one act, thought, feeling, etc. that goes on is unseen by God. He sees all, He knows all, simply put. So why is it that I sometimes talk to God and try to inform Him of what is going on as if He is not already arranging a solution or moving things around to better the situation?
The more we spend time with Jesus, the more He begins to make us the solution. The reason as to why we are here on earth is not to pray for God to move the earth and change everything so that this world can be a better place. I believe that believers and followers of Jesus should best be described as play-doh. We should be willing to have God shape us to fit the mold needed in order to be the solution to the problems in this world. The reason we are here on earth is so that God can constantly shape and use us to bring about His kingdom, a kingdom of holiness, righteousness, peace, and love.
Therefore, if we would like to follow through as the:
“chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession” (1 Peter 2:9)
we must seek become the dreamers that He wants us to be and seek Him for dreams and ways to bring about a difference. Dreamers arise when works are many. What dreams do you have?

I like this. More often than not, I will fuss about my current situation and the feelings I have that come with it because I can’t see the next piece of the puzzle.

It’s in those moments where we can then see where God wants us to play a part in it all.
