Seeking His Presence – The Living Water

The Secret of His Presence
~
“In the Secret of His presence,
how my soul delights to hide!
O, how precious are the lessons
which I learn at Jesus’ side!
Earthly cares could never vex me,
neither trials lay me low;
For when Satan comes to tempt me,
to the “secret place,” I go.
When my soul is faint and thirsty,
‘neath the shadow of His wing
There is cool and pleasant shelter,
and a fresh and crystal spring;
And my Savior rests beside me
as we hold communion sweet;
If I tried, I could not utter
what He says when thus we meet.
Would you like to know the sweetness
of the secret of the Lord?
Go and hide beneath His shadow;
this shall then be your reward:
And whene’er you leave the silence
of that happy meeting place
You must mind and bear the image
of your Master in your face.
You will surely lose the blessing
and the fullness of your joy
If you let dark clouds distress you
and your inward peace destroy;
You may always be abiding,
if you will, at Jesus’ side;
In the secret of His presence
you may every moment hide.”

As I seek to keep my gaze (eyes) and attention (ears) on Jesus I have been taught quite a good amount of truths directly from Him and they have absolutely rocked my world. I have learned that there are a few things to remember in our walk with the Lord which are very key to the understanding of our place in the relationship. First of all, the battle is not between you and satan, and it’s not even between God and Satan because Jesus already received the victory. Now it is up to us to go and proclaim the victory everywhere we go. If you are walking with Jesus, YOU ARE VICTORIOUS!

Number two, Jesus minus me equals EVERYTHING, and me minus Jesus equals absolutely nothing. The truth is, we are nothing without Jesus. That is our place! It emphasizes the need for Him and the place we hold in this walk that we don’t bring anything to the table except that which is already His which then it is not even us bringing but His giving. I say this simply because when we are reduced to nothing, The Lord sees a yielded heart that He can come upon.

As a result of keeping our gaze and attention on Jesus and us being and bringing nothing to the table but ourselves, we see the truth that can be understood in Song of Solomon (Songs; The Passion Translation), where Jesus simply seeks to romance us. He owns all and has all, wanting to be our all so that in turn he can bless us. . . With HIM! The heart of Jesus toward us is simply to love us and for us love Him. It has nothing to do with working for Him or doing things for Him. When you love someone you gladly do things for them out of the love that is stored up within. But until we fall in love with Jesus by finding His love, allowing Him to love us and us loving Him back, we won’t be able to experience and encounter true life!

And a truth that I have been seeking Jesus for because it has always appealed to me as He always reminds me is about Him being the Living Water. And as John 7 states,

“‘…Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”

Jesus brings rivers of Living Water to flow within their hearts (belly’s) through His Holy Spirit, His presence, which is Jesus Himself. Meaning that Jesus being a river maker, creates rivers within us to fill that which we need in that moment since the rivers flow from beneath His throne. If we are full of sorrow or grief, Jesus will bring forth a river of joy to come about and flow within us and bring joy to our lives that cannot be robbed or destroyed. If we are in need of love or peace, He will make a river flow from His throne into our hearts to bring us that which we need in the moment and our walk with Him. This is the Jesus that I serve. One that cares, loves, and will make something happen simply to fill you with Himself that you may run faster, go further, love purely and overall, to look like Him.

With all that is within me, I ask that you would follow this link (https://my.bible.com/bible/1849/SNG.INTRO1.TPT), and read Song of Solomon (Songs) in this beautifully translated version that will help you catch the heart of God for YOU!

“Let the Lamb that was slain receive His reward.” Be Blessed!
